Indian shuttlers reach the second round of Hong Kong Open

Olympic medal winner P.V. Sindhu and Sammer Verma reached the second round of the Hong Kong Open  World Tour Super 500 tournament on Wednesday at Kowloon.

Sindhu defeated Thailand's Nitchaon Jindapol with a final score of 21-15 13-21 21-17 . This is the fourth time when Sindhu has defeated the Thai player. 

In the next round she would be playing against Korea's Sung Ji Hyun.

In the men's single Sameer defeated Thai player Suppanyu Avihingsanon. The final score was 21-17 21-14. 

He would be playing to defeat  China's Olympic champion Chen Long.
