Three drug peddlers arrested

Three drug peddlers were arrested on Saturday in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir after recovery of poppy straw and heroin from them.

Hardeep Singh and his associate Rakesh Kumar are residents of Punjab. They were arrested after the cops recovered hree kilograms of poppy straw from their vehicle at Balole near Bari Brahmana along the Jammu-Pathankot highway. 

Police said that the truck was intercepted on way to Punjab at a police check point after which the contraband was recovered.

Another accused Sourav Sharma is a resident of Ghagwal village of Samba was arrested by the police  at Sandhi Morh. 5.5 grams of heroin and seven grams of charas (a form of cannabis) were recovered from his possession.

The trio is booked under NDPS act. 

In another case, police arrested a  bootlegger and recovered 21 bottles of illicit liquor from him at Border Road Samba. The accused is Raghubir Singh. He is a resident of Talgarh Rehian. A case has been registered against him.
