Australian films to be screened in KIFF

Cinema lovers will be happy to know that Australian classics and children films and documentaries would be screened in the upcoming film festivals in India. 

Australian High Commissioner to India Harinder Sidhu said in a statement on Friday said, "I am delighted that we could share Australian stories through the diverse range of films presented as part of our Australia Fest film showcase. I hope that Indian audiences will enjoy them." 

At the 4th edition of the Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) in November, Australia will be in focus. In the film festival many award-winning Australian films will be screened and some of the renowned filmmakers will be there to showcase their work. 

In the Delhi International Film festival, Four award-winning films- 'Gurrumul', 'Lost and Found', 'Brothers Nest' and 'Trespass' - will feature. 

Critically acclaimed children short animation film- The Lost Thing - will be screened in the Jio MAMI Film Festival and the Chennai International Film Festival will screen some important feature and short films produced in Australia in recent years. Those include 'Breath' and 'What if it Works'.

"we are honoured to present a rich selection of Australian films that showcase one of the worlds most diverse, robust and unique film industry," Mitu Bhowmick Lange, who curated the films to be shown in film festivals in India, said. 

She added that  some of Australias most prolific film makers would be in India to talk about their productions in the film fests.
