Heroin worth Rs. 25 crore seized from foreign nationals

Two people from Afghan and a Nigerian national have been arrested by the Delhi police for smuggling heroin worth Rs 25 crore in South Delhi. 

The police acted on a tip and laid a trap at the exist gate of a hospital in Saket on Tuesday. The two Afghani's  Esmatullah (40) and Khalilullah (22) were suppose to deliver a consignment to Osondu a Nigerian national. 

The three were arrested when they ere handing over the consignment and five-kg heroin and 4,200 US dollars were seized. 

During the interrogation process they revealed that they had been smuggling heroin in Delhi and adjoining states from last three years. The Afghani's used to bring heroin from Afghanistan and hand it over to Nigerian nationals.  They used to bring consignments in their stomach by swallowing heroin-filled capsules and also sometimes carried them in secret pockets of their bags by air. 

The Afghan nationals have supplied more than 100 kg of heroin in Delhi in the last two years and last time they brought 15-kg. They were visiting India on medical visa. 

The Nigerian supplied the drug to other countries including Canada, England, France and South Africa through courier companies. 

He arrived in India in the year 2014 on a business visa for six months and did not return back. he was lured by another Nigerian national for smuggling drugs. Later he developed his own network and started smuggling heroin on his own.
