Good news for Netflix fans

The world famous Web channel Netflix has conformed the season 2 of the hit Indian Series "Sacred Games."

The series is based on Vikram Chandra's novel "Sacred Games." The sereies feature Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles and is directed by  Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane. The first season premiered on 6 July. 

In a press release it was Netflix said that in the second season Sartaj Singh (Saif) will pursue his  relentless battle of saving the city and Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawaz) will face bigger challenges to retain his position as the legendary kingpin of Mumbai. 

In the second season the character of Guruji payed by Pankaj Tripathi will also be in spot light. This character holds a pivtol pace in the sow for unfololdong a chain of events that would shape the next season. The upcoming season  is scheduled to film in India and locations overseas later this year.

In the second season also Kashyap will continue to direct the story of Gaitonde and Motwane will be handing over the story line of Sartaj to Neeraj Ghaywan. 

The lead writer of the show Varun Grover and Motwane will be the showrunner. 

Erik Barmack, vice president, international originals at Netflix said, "We've been thrilled by the response to Sacred Games from fans worldwide, and especially in India, to this high quality production. It's incredibly exciting for us to take the story of Sacred Games forward and open a new chapter in the series with its second season."

"Sacred Games" is the first of eight Indian series that Netflix has commissioned. Upon its debut, the show received positive reviews from critics, mainly for the performance of its lead actor.
