Nine died due to heavy rains in UP

As thundershowers attacked several parts of Uttar Pradesh nine people died and six got injured in rain-related incidents since Sunday night. 

Relief Commissioner Sanjay Kumar said, "Nine persons were killed and six others injured in rain releated incidents. Three persons died in Basti, two each in Sitapur and Kannauj while one died each in Sonebhadra and Bijnore."

Since Sunday night till 5 pm on Monday deaths were reported.  

Since Sunday Nighasan received 13 cm rainfall, followed by Nagina 12 cm, Birdghat 11 cm, Shardanagar 10 cm, Rae Bareli and Puranpur 9 cm each, Pilibhit 7 cm and Rampur 5 cm as per the reports of Met department. 

At the Elgin Bridge in Barabanki, Ayodhya, and Turtiparin Ballia the Ghagra river was flowing above the red mark and the river Sharda flowed above the dannger mark.

At Narora, Fatehgarh, Gumtia, Ankin Ghat and Kanpur, the Ganga and the Yamuna at Prayag Ghat in Mathura, Sai at Rae Bareli, Rapti at Balrampur and Bansi, Quano at Chandradeep Ghat are flowing at dangerous levels.
