Man caught carrying bullets at IGAI

A passenger bound to Lucknow was detained at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGAI) in New Delhi on Tuesday for allegedly carrying with him five rounds of bullets in his luggage.

The bullet-like objects were detected during the x-ray monitor scanning while the baggage of R Singh the passenger was under checking process, an official requesting anonymity said.  The bullet-like objects were detected by a CISF officer in charge of scanning baggage of commuters.

"Five live bullet rounds of .32 mm calibre were recovered from the passenger who was travelling to Lucknow," the official said.

Singh was not allowed to take the flight and handed over to the police as he could not produce any documents for carrying the ammunition, the official said, adding that the man was later booked under sections of the Arms Act.
