And it is now SAIRAT VS. DHADAK!

The much awaited movie trailer of this season “DHADAK” starring Jhanvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter released on Sunday and is all over the internet, facing criticism and trolls within 4 days of its upload. The movie is inspired by Marathi Blockbuster 'SAIRAT', which is the first Marathi movie to enter the 100 cr club.

Before comparing both the films, have a look at the memes and trolls which are- viral on the internet as they compare ‘SAIRAT’ & ‘DHADAK’.

For all those who have not seen SAIRAT would be thinking why is DHADAK being compared with this film?

Sairat is a 2016 Indian Marathi-language musical romantic drama starring Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar. It is directed by Nagraj Manjule and produced by Nagraj Manjule, Nitin Keni, and Nikhil Sane under the banner of Aatpat Production, Zee Studios and Essel Vision Productions. The music, produced by Ajay-Atul, was released on 6 April 2016.

The film was released in India on 29 April 2016 It emerged as the biggest weekend opener for a Marathi film, breaking record previously held by Natsamrat. The film was selected for the 66th Berlin International Film Festival under its Generation 14 Plus section.

Sairat was the first Marathi film to cross 50 crore mark. The film has become the first Marathi film to gross over 100 crore worldwide. The film is also the highest rated Marathi movie on IMDb, with an 8.5/10 User rating.

What is Dhadak?

Dhadak is an upcoming 2018 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film directed by Shashank Khaitan, produced by Dharma Productions and Zee Studios and stars Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter in lead roles. The film is a remake of the 2016 Marathi language film Sairat. It is scheduled to release on 20 July 2018.

Why are the fans disappointed?

Dhadak and Sairat are being compared on the following points:

· Story LineWhen you look at the trailer you will also realize that there are scenes which are taken from Sairat have been under performed by the cast. Even though the makers of the film claim that Sairat was just an inspiration for them and they never tried to copy it. The only change which is observed is that the backdrop of
Sairat was Marathi and that of Dhadak is Gujarati.

· Film location and sets: Sairat was based on village background with no huge or lavish sets. Dhadak being a Dharma Production film obviously includes an urban background with wonderful and larger than life sets and costumes. Sairat fans argue that this has spoiled the simplicity and true essence of the film. All these elements showed the reality of the story and Dhadak has badly failed in depicting it.

· Dialogues: Dhadak according to the audience has no element of originality in it even the dialogues are a translated version of Marathi and fail to impress the viewers.

· Music: Music composers of both the films are Ajay-Atul. But the Hindi version of the catchy dancing number “Zingat” is again not appreciated by the audience. There is a possibility that the romantic number “Yed Lgla” is also remade in hindi.

· Casting: What was most appreciated in Sairat was its wonderful casting. The directors chose common faces next door who did full justice to their character, making the audience instantly connect to them. Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar were perfect for the role of Archie and Parshya respectively. It felt like no acting is being done they are simply living their routine lives on screen.

Dhadak, is debut film of the lead cast which includes legendary actor Sridevi Kapoor's daughter Jhanvi Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor's step brother Ishaan Khatter. However, taking a look at the trailer, the performances of the much hyped debutantes Jhanvi and Sahil has posed a question on their acting ability in the minds of the audience.

The only actor which the viewers were happy to see was Ashutosh Rana in the negative role of Parthavi's father.

Pankaj Kasrade:

Recently launched trailer of Dhadak  is the  remake of the Marathi movie Sairat, but it is absolutely absurd to compare these two films. The truth in Sairat is innocence, the movie tells a different definition of love. The trailer of Dhadak only shows that this movie is an overdose of much fun and masala.Sairat is focused on the story of  a small village and Dhadak shows the flamboyance of the city which seems to be slaughtering that innocent film. Ishaan and Jahnavi are not seen anywhere from Sarait’s perfect characters of Archie and Prshya and neither their chemistry is being seen.

Shrawani Bakshi:
Dhadak...huge star cast, fake, lovie dovie type movie ,copy of sairat on the Rajasthani background. Even if credits have been given to Nagraj manjule(director of sairat) trailer is not even 10% of sairat trailer, shows the amount of budget spent on it and all tamjhams of  big budget movie. Sairat is landmark film, dhadak didn't gave that feeling which sairat gave. Sairat was raw, innocent and shocking whereas dhadak seems to be more filmy, beautiful, cleaned up sad love story..and most important 'zingat chi Maja nai aali ganya la....'

Ruhul Ameen Khan:

The first Marathi movie that got involved in the 100 crore business club. The name sairat, awakens us in a different sealing of mind.Sairat is a movie based on real-life. In the movie all the characters, story, people, situations appear in a way that seems to be real. On the other hand, there is no reality in  Dhadak. The fairytale story of the fabled world is shown with full masala and drama. This was an obvious expectation from Dhadak, as it is a film of Dharma Production. Sairat's innocence has been replaced by Dhadak’s masala. Only the trailer is launched but the trailer is the essence of the movie itself. The movie is yet to release and then the audience will tell where the movie stands, and how much similar is Dhadak with this beautiful Marathi film ‘Sairat.’
