Sridevi's funeral to be held on Wednesday,mortal remains to reach Mumbai tonight

Mortal remains of the legendary actress Srivedi are finally en route to Mumbai from Dubai in a private jet of Anil Ambani, after the embalming process. The body is expected to reach Mumbai tonight and the last rites of the Sadma actress will be performed on Wednesday. 

In a statement released by Sridevi's family, it is said that people could pay their last respects between 09.30 am to 12.30 pm at the Celebration Sports club Mumbai. Sridevi's last journey would commence from the club to the crematorium near Pawan Hans Ville PArle at 02.00 pm. The last rites will take place from 03.30 pm on wards. 

The Kapoor family has now released an official statement giving out details of the funeral and last rites of the legendary actor Sridevi. 

The statement read:  


"On behalf of Khushi, Janhvi, Boney Kapoor, the entire Kapoor and Ayyappan families, a sincere thanks to the media for your continued sensitivity and support during this emotional moment.

1. Condolences and last respects: 
Date & Time : 28th Feb Wednesday, 9.30 am to 12.30 pm

Garden No 5, Lokhandwala Complex, Andheri West, Mumbai, Maharashtra - 400053

The last journey will commence at 2 pm from Celebration Sports Club to Pawan Hans.

2. Cremation Ceremony
Address : Vile Parle Seva Samaj Crematorium and Hindu Cemetery, Next to Pawan Hans, SV Road, Vile Parle West

​Date & Time : 28th Feb 3.30 pm onwards"

Sridevi 54, was found unconssious in a bathtub in her hotel apartment at the Jumeirah Emirates by her husband on Saturday evening, the local media there reported. She was rushed to the hospital where she was declared brought dead. 

Though her postmorterm report stated that she died of accidental drowning in her bathtub filled with water in her hotel apartment in which she fell after falling unconscious, the Kapoor family had initially maintained that she died of cardiac arrest. Interestingly, the forensic report didnot mention of cardiac arrest. 

Sridevi has two daughters Jahnvi 20 and Khushi 17, who were in Mumbai during this unfortunate incident.
