When these children express their hearts through dance

Bhopal: The little tots of Pratibhalaya Arts Academy on Thursday, enthralled the dance lovers of the city through their mesmerizing Bharatnatyam performance during ‘Balolsavam’ at Gandhi Bhavan.
The event took off with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony by the chief guest of the evening, noted writer Padmashree Mehrunnsia Pervez. Around 20 children staged various dance items of Bharatnatyam under the guidance of noted Guru Manju Mani Hatvalne. The performances commenced with Pushpanjali, which is an offering of flowers to God and is an inauguration dance. It is a salutation to Lord Nataraja, the Guru and the musicians.
This was followed by Alarippu, which is the first dance piece that the Bharatnatyam dancers learn The children left the audience spell bound in the next performance Sita Kalyanam, making the audience go through an array of emotions. Essaying the episode of Sita swayamwara, and how Lord Rama throngs the bow with a thunderous swang and married princess Sita, daughter of King Janaka.

Touring the dance lovers through the heroic deeds of Hanuman, the children then recited Hanuman Chalisa, in Bharatnatyam. The evening concluded with a dance drama Aadi Shankaracharya, that focused on a few of his works like Ganesha Panchratnam, Shiva Shadakshara, Mahishasur Mardini Stotram.
“The is in awe of conducting such events to give platform to the budding artistes, which helps build them their confidence. The programme was prepared in a duration of just 25 days,” Director Pratibhalaya Arts Academy, Vishal Hatvalne said.
Balolsavam was conceptualized and choreographed by Guru Manju Mani Hatvalne.
