32 dead, 250 injured in behest of supporting a rapist!

Amidst violence and demonstration of the followers, a special CBI court in Panchkula announced self-styled Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, guilty of raping two women followers 2002. Ramrahim was moved to a prison in Rohtak late on Friday evening.  The court will announce the conviction on Monday.
After a dramatic kick off from his head-quarters in Sirsa with a 200 car convoy, he was taken to Rohtak by a helicopter post his conviction and arrest. After his arrival at Rohtak, he was taken to the police guest house which served as a makeshift jail, and was then shifted to the prison.
Interestingly, after the judgement was announced, arson among the followers of the Dera Succha Sauda left 32 dead and more than 250 injured after violence erupted in 15 cities in six states including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Jharkhand. The followers allegedly set ablaze buses and coaches in Delhi and other states.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a tweet Friday night, condemned the violence and said the law and order situation is being monitored closely. “The law & order situation is being closely monitored. I reviewed the situation with NSA & Home Secretary,” PM Modi wrote on Twitter. He further urged officials to work round the clock to restore normalcy and provide all possible assistance.
Kaithal police seized objectionable objects like axes, batons, petrol bombs etc during a search operation. Dera in Kaithal has been completely vacated following the conviction of the self- styled godman in Panchkula, reported PTI.
Curfew that was imposed from 3 pm onwards in Panchkula has been revoked. Uneasy calm prevails in Panchkula. People choose to stay indoors. Markets, educational institutes continue to remain shut.
